Bought this as part of promotional package with the TV I wanted (50" Samsung 1080p Plasma). TV won't get delivered until next Saturday, but I went ahead and set up the Blu-ray with my wireless DSL network, just using the RCA cables that came in the box, hooked up to the CRT TV that's there now.

At first, I was frustrated. After painstakingly plugging in the gazillion characters of my WEP key, the player spent the next 40+ minutes downloading a firmware update. But immediately afterwards, when I did a "Network Test" it wouldn't communicate with my wireless anymore. AUGHHHH.

So I repeated the previous step, plugged in the gazillion WEP characters again, and then....Ah, JOY! Got to see my Netflix "Instant" list, and just now am watching one of my selections on that list (it's been running for over 40 minutes, while I'm also online on my computer, and there have been no blips or issues -- looks just like regular TV). Can see ANYTHING on YouTube, and also played around a bit with the free Pandora customizable streaming-radio service.

So far, it's an amazing box. On Saturday, I'll get to see how it works with the HDTV, and will post back later.

Update 10/25/09: Have been using this player for a couple weeks now, mostly hooked up to that 5+ year old CRT, and have watched many, many Netflix streamed movies & documentaries. No problems mid-stream, at all; have never had it stop as others have mentioned. And the Netflix picture is really great -- particularly on newer films. But have found that when I first turn on the Blu-ray, I need to first go to the Network menu and run a quick 30-second connection test before selecting Netflix. If I don't -- if I try to just go to Netflix first -- I get a "Network initializing" screen.

Then, for the past day+, I have had it hooked up (via 4' Rocketfish HDMI cable) to the Samsung 50" 1080p Plasma which was delivered yesterday (a week late, but that was just a simple mix-up). Watched "Ratatouille" Blu-ray disc. AMAZING picture...plus I love the fact I really need only the TV remote to run either device. Right now am watching episode 3 of "Carrier", a PBS documentary about USS Nimitz, aircraft carrier serving in Iraq, streaming from Netflix, and the picture is very nearly HD quality -- it's much better than Standard def.

So...so far I still highly recommend this player (although I've removed 1 star for the little niggle with the extra step I need to take to ensure network connection), especially if you'll be pairing it with a Samsung HDTV.Get more detail about Samsung BD-P3600 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player.
